Prime Minister [Narendra Modi] paid tribute to Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa on the eve of [Swami Vivekananda] Jayanti or National Youth Day
Prime Minister Narendra Modi
on Sunday paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda at the Belur Math on his birth
anniversary. Belur Math located in Howrah district is the headquarters of the
Ramakrishna Mission. Modi is the first Prime Minister to spend the night in
Belur Math.
Mission officials said that
Modi woke up early on Sunday and paid homage to Swami Vivekananda's temple.
Vivekananda's birth anniversary is celebrated as National Youth Day. Modi then
reached the main building of the temple and paid homage to Ramakrishna
Paramahamsa. Modi reached Belur via the river from Kolkata and was welcomed by
the saints there.
Addressing the youth on the
occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed that a section of youth is
being misled on the amended citizenship law but this law will not take away
anyone's citizenship. Modi said that anyone who has faith in India and the
Constitution of India can become a citizen of the country.
